Unsolved Report

Editorial Standards

How Unsolved Report researches, writes, and fact-checks every story.

Evidence first, legend clearly labeled

Every article follows the same structure: we present the documented facts with inline citations to reputable sources, then state the genuine open question, and only then discuss theories and legends — explicitly labeled as speculation. We never blur the line between what is established and what is guessed.

Sourcing standard

Load-bearing factual claims are cited to reputable primary or tertiary sources: universities, museums, UNESCO, Britannica, the Smithsonian, peer-reviewed journals, and major science and history publications. Preprints are labeled as preprints. Where a claim is contested or recent, we say so in the text.

Use of AI

Our articles are researched and drafted with the assistance of AI tools and then reviewed against the sources cited. We disclose this openly. AI assists with drafting and research synthesis; editorial responsibility for accuracy and labeling rests with The Unsolved Report Editorial Team.
